Ruben Herrera Express Is Like Family P
eople often joke with Ruben Herrera, asking if there is anything he can’t do.
While working a successful job at a local hospital, Ruben decided to also get a part-time job when his children headed off to college. He wanted to earn extra money to help put his kids through school. That’s when he met the folks at Express Employment Professionals.
“I was so glad I discovered Express,” he said. “I’ve done a little bit of everything for them. For 10 years, I took tickets at sporting events, and I loved that. I’ve done everything from catering to answering the phone, too.”
“Ruben’s personality, smile, and attitude are evident in his leadership style,” said Veronica Zamora, who manages the Norman, Oklahoma Express office. “When I sent him on the first job he had great reviews, he was punctual, and the client absolutely loved him. They request Ruben every year. We don’t have to worry about a thing with Ruben–and it’s a guaranteed deal that the job is going to get done right.”
Ruben has worked hard for his children and for Express. “There is a special bond with the whole team and Ruben. He’s not just an associate, he is like family,” Veronica said.
The feeling is mutual as Ruben also considers Express family. “They have a Christmas get- together each year and make sure everyone blends in and feels welcome,” he said.
“You don’t find people like Ruben,” Veronica said. “He is genuine, trustworthy, 100 percent golden, and dependable. I can’t stress how dependable he is. You need a project completed, he’ll organize the project, taking the lead, and helping call fellow employees if they are late. Our projects are successful because of Ruben.”
I was so glad I discovered Express.
Now retired from his job at the hospital, Ruben spends some of his time volunteering. He was recently named volunteer of the year for the YMCA. And, he still works when Express calls him for an assignment. His temporary jobs now give him the flexibility to travel, giving him the opportunity to see his grandchild.
Ruben likes to stay busy, make new friends, and tell others about Express. “I just want to help people. If they are looking for a job, I tell them to try Express,” he said. “They’ll help you out. They’ll even train you for a job if you need it.”
