and money from his retirement package dwindling, Frank Robert Smith was really hurting financially. The former drug store assistant manager had lost his job and spent many nights sleeping in his car.

“I had hit rock bottom and was more than ready to make a fresh start at something worthwhile,” Frank said.
“I was almost out of hope when I went to the public library and used the computer to Google temp agencies in Northeast Massachusetts. The one that sounded most appealing was Express,” Frank said.

and was more than ready to make a fresh start at something worthwhile.
From his very first interview, Frank really felt confident that the people at Express could help him. “When I went to meet them, they made a positive impression on me,” he said. “They showed me respect and seemed to want to get to know me as an individual to find out what kind of work would suit me.”

When they saw how much Frank wanted to work, Express found him quite a few job assignments. Because he wasn’t afraid to stock shelves, unload trucks, sweep floors, and rake lawns, Frank showed how determined a worker he could be. “At first it troubled me a lot that I was doing menial labor when I have my bachelor’s degree,” Frank said, “but the people at Express taught me to appreciate the jobs I got and to make the best of each one. Now, when I get jobs that involve a bit more responsibility, I really appreciate them.
“I thought Express was pretty terrific in what they did for me. The jobs have done wonders for my self-confidence,” he said.
One job in particular that has boosted Frank’s confidence is a warehouse delivery position. That experience brought back much of the truck driving skills Frank acquired during college to help pay for his expenses. He is now considering truck driving as a career.
“Things are looking up now,” he said. “I think by driving a truck, I’ll make enough money and have enough time to try my hand at my newest hobby: writing. Right now, I’m writing blog articles that describe products for sale on the Internet. For example, if someone wants to sell motorcycle boots, I’ll write the ad to help that person get more sales. Of course, my goal is to write a book eventually and I think I can do it.”
