AGEM INDEX


In the final month of 2014, the AGEM Index reported a composite value of 181.84, The December 2014 index represents a decline of 3.74 points (-2.0 percent) when compared to November 2014.


Compared to a year ago, the AGEM Index declined 12.11 points (-6.2 percent). The index reported monthly declines for four consecutive months and was down for nine of the past 12 months. In December, Global Cash Access (GCA) completed its acquisition of Multimedia Games Corporation, removing Multimedia Games from the overall index.


During the latest period, eight of the 14 global gaming equipment suppliers reported month-to-month gains in stock price, with one reporting a gain of more than five percent. Of the six companies reporting a month-to- month decline in stock price, two were down by more than five percent.


AGEM is an international trade association representing manufacturers of electronic gaming devices, systems, and components for the gaming industry. The Association works to further the interests of gaming equipment manufacturers throughout the world. Through political action, tradeshow partnerships, information dissemination and good corporate citizenship, the members of AGEM work together to create benefits for every company within the organization. Together, AGEM and its member organisations have assisted regulatory commissions and participated in the legislative process to solve problems and create a positive business environment.

l January Board meeting saw the election of AGEM officers: President Tom Jingoli, Konami; First Vice President Dan Savage, Scientific Games; Second Vice President Dave Lucchese, Global Cash Access (GCA) / Multimedia Games; Vice President Of Government Relations Steve DiMasi, GTECH / IGT; Secretary Mark Dunn, Aristocrat; Treasurer Tom Nieman, JCM Global; Co- General Counsel Mike Dreitzer, Ainsworth, and Co-General Counsel Harper Ko, Scientific Games. All the officers will serve for a one year term, with the exception of the President who serves for two years.


l Approved US$10,000 to renew the Drexel University AGEM Scholarship. Drexel is dedicating its new gaming lab with machines from Bally with additional machines to come from Konami.


EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES RECENT EVENTS:


l AGEM representatives, including President Tom Jingoli and Executive Director Marcus Prater, made a presentation to the Nevada Resort Association on Dec. 16 to introduce Nevada operators to Senate Bill 9, which would allow for variable payback percentages on slot machines. The Nevada Legislature is poised to consider the bill beginning on Feb. 2.


FORTHCOMING EVENTS:


l NCF UK Dealer Championship – ICE Feb 3-5, 2015. The UK leg of the ECA's European Dealer Championship will be held on stand S5-260 at ICE. The event organised by the National Casino Forum (NCF) and ECA will include up to 10 finalists. The winner of the UK competition will be invited to attend the EDC 2015 Finals, which will take place at the beautiful Hit Casino Park, Nova Gorica in Slovenia on May 12-13, 2015.
