Mfg. Advancements Showcased at Expanded ASSEMBLY Show
Rosemont, IL — The ASSEMBLY Show, held from October 25-27, in Rosemont, Illinois, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center was a great success, with the producers reporting growth in all areas. The exhibit hall floor had 276 exhibits occupying 67,000 ft2 (6,224m2), a 12 percent increase over 2015. With over 7,000 industry professionals from 48 states and 41 countries reg- istered to attend, the show also saw a 5 percent increase in registrations over 2015. The exhibitors responded enthusiastically with over 70 percent renewing booth space on-site for next year’s show, which will take place in the same venue October 24-26, 2017. “When we launched The
ASSEM BLY Show four years ago we were committed to providing the attendees an interactive show floor where they could see working machin-
ery offering solutions. We are pleased that this year’s event had the most live equipment in the exhibit hall as well as a comprehensive education program, exhibitors showcasing their latest products and solutions, and valuable networking opportunities,” said Tom Esposito, publisher of ASSEMBLY Magazine. “We are thrilled with the response from the industry and thank the exhibitors, attendees, and speakers who made this such a worthwhile event for the fourth year in a row.” The exhibit hall displayed work-
ing machinery, representing the best from the vendor community. Exhib - itors included Promess, ASG, Festo and Accounting Business Solutions by JCS and Schmidt
Technology. The event kicked off with the very popular “Taste of Rosemont” networking reception on Tuesday evening, spon-
Messe München Partners with SEMI Europe
Berlin, Germany — SEMI and Messe München have partnered to co-locate SEMICON Europa with productroni- ca and electronica (alternating years) in Munich, Germany. The co-located events will be held for the first time from November 14-17, 2017, at the Messe München Exhibition Center, creating one of the strongest single events for electronics manufacturing in Europe, and broadening the range of attendees across the electronics
supply chain. Attendees of produc- tronica and electronica are now given an extended platform with the inclu- sion of SEMICON Europa, which is focused largely on the electronics manufacturing supply chain and semiconductor manufacturing. The co-located events will expand attendee opportunities to exchange ideas and promote technological progress.

sored by ASG, which attracted hun- dreds of attendees who had the chance to enjoy food and drink in a casual setting while visiting with the exhibitors on the show floor. All of the attendees and exhibitors then had a chance to network and mingle on Wednesday evening at a fun and live- ly pub night, complete with large screen TVs showing the World Series. The evening was sponsored by Festo. The robust conference program,
which kicked off on Tuesday, included industry experts sharing their knowl-
edge about the industrial IoT, manag- ing mixed model assembly lines, col- laborative robotics, bringing manufac- turing back to America, and concur- rent production. The education pro- gram wrapped up with a panel discus- sion on recruiting and retaining women in manufacturing with pan- elists Chelsea Baker from ABB Group, Elizabeth Rolinski
