Aitech Develops Rugged and Compact Graphics Supercomputer
Chatsworth, CA — Aitech Defense Systems now offers a fanless, rugged GPGPU (general-purpose graphics processing unit) supercomputer that meas- ures only 20 in.3 (327.7 cm3), while providing 1 teraFLOP of parallel processing. The self-contained, military-grade A176 Cyclone has been designed for SFF (small form factor) power density and delivers 60 gigaFLOPs/W in a compact, low-power HPEC (high performance embedded computer). Using NVIDIA Maxwell architecture for the
GPU subsystem, the A176 integrates 256 CUDA cores with 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The quad-core ARM Cortex A57 CPU provides an operating fre- quency to 1.9 GHz per core, with an overall maxi- mum power consumption of only 17W (8-10W typical). GPUs unburden the CPU from
heavy computation, enabling faster processing of the overall system, a principle taken from the graphics- intensive gaming industry. A com- pact, rugged system that delivers these levels of processing presents new opportunities for an embedded designer working with an HPEC. Its excellent processing, low-
power and compact size make the GPU suitable for embedded deep learning, computer vision, graphics, and GPU computing applications, especially in harsh environments. Specific uses include C4ISR, intelli-
Four-Channel PbSeDetectors From Laser
Components Bedford, NH — Laser Components is now manufacturing its lead selenide (PbSe) detectors with four channels. The quad version is an attractive alternative to other methods for gas measurement. Four selected PbSe chips are arranged in quadrants, equipped with their own filters, and housed in a TO-8 or TP-39 can. The readout of all channels is carried out simultaneously. For an improved sig- nal in the long-wave range, cooled versions are also available. In the past, when applying
PbSe detectors, it was necessary to use either several single detectors or

(11 x 11 x 3 cm) and weighs less than 2.2 lb (1 kg). Its operating temperature is –40 to +70°C (–40 to +158°F) with vibration and shock to VITA 47 levels V2 and OS1, respectively. The system withstands rain, dust, salt fog and bench handling to MIL-STD-

speed are needed. Contact: Laser Components
