BUSINESS EDGE Northamptonshire Chamber is launching nine new scheduled courses to help businesses upskill their staff and remain competitive. From this April, the Chamber
training programme will offer a variety of topics, including fire safety awareness, an introduction to HR management, LinkedIn for business, key account management, technical SEO, self confidence in the workplace and an international trade course called Agents and Distributors. These new scheduled courses
have been developed in response to general business inquiries, training evaluation feedback as well as feedback from the Chamber’s popular 60 Minute Seminars. All courses are delivered by members who are local training professionals in partnership with the Chamber. Chamber members receive a
significant discount for all employees attending scheduled courses.

FULL HOUSE FOR BINGO HALL
A landmark bingo complex estimates 8.5 million people have played at its venue since it opened its doors 25 years ago. Beacon Bingo Northampton, in Weedon Road, is a
purpose built complex which can seat about 1,700 players. At the end of last year it marked its 25th anniversary by hosting a Party Day and a Thank You Day for its customers. General manager Paul Cooke said: “Our club has
always been extremely popular. When we opened this was the biggest club in the country and it was the first of the new generation clubs. “We estimate 8.5 million people have played here over
the years. Our success is down to our unique brand and friendly atmosphere. This is an independent club and we have always been keen to be part of the community.
“Our recent Party Day was a lot of fun and on the
Thank You Day all the bingo was free to show our customers how much they mean to us. We also followed that up with a big prize money session the next day.” The complex regularly runs a series of special events, including free bingo sessions for new members, big prize sessions and a Diamond Club featuring a free three course meal for older members. Paul added: “One of our biggest attractions is our
Party Lounge where players can enjoy bingo, a meal and live entertainment. It’s very lively and is particularly popular with our younger players.”
