SHAPE THE SKILLS OF FUTURE WORKFORCE

SEMLEP, the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership, is inviting business people from across Northamptonshire to join its Careers and Enterprise Programme. Launched to inspire and prepare young people for the fast-changing

world of work, the programme links senior business people with schools and colleges. SEMLEP is seeking Enterprise Advisers who will volunteer their time to work closely with the senior management team in a local secondary school or college, to help develop and shape relevant careers and enterprise strategies. The aim of this is to link businesses and schools so that 11-to 19- year-olds gain an understanding of growth business sectors, make the most of labour market opportunities, develop relevant skills and choose appropriate qualification pathways. This is your chance to:

• Support the development of our future workforce • Cultivate a close relationship with schools and colleges • Be part of a local network of Enterprise Advisers • Develop your staff

established in 1981 and has built up a strong reputation as a tier 2 haulier working for a variety of global firms. Now the Wellingborough-based

firm is taking big steps to revamp its business in order to provide services under its own banner. To secure success it has a strong

team in place, has refreshed its branding and has invested in a fleet of more than 40 lorry tractor units and 70 different types of trailers to include tankers, bulkers and curtainsiders. Hornigold Haulage head of sales

and marketing John Elliott said: “Hornigold has been built on the values of integrity, efficiency and professionalism and is the very epitome of a company that has achieved a high level of success through a reputation of reliability and lasting relationships. “We have been incredibly

successful as tier 2 hauliers because we provide an efficient

service which in turn makes the firms we work for efficient at what they do. “We now want to come out from

under that umbrella in order to provide services under our own banner. As a tier 2 haulier we have worked with a wide variety of food manufacturers and we are particularly keen to work more closely with this industry under our own brand. “The service we offer represents

the best value for money available and delivers peace of mind to our clients.”

Why should I make a will?

If you are married don’t assume “my other half” will get everything

If you are living together but not married you may be treated as single and a surviving partner may get nothing

If you are a parent/s - unless you appoint you guardians in your will don’t assume grandparents, siblings or best friends care look after your children in the event of your death as this is not the legal position. Some children
