Your skipper will be with you all day, teaching you the finer points of sailing but will leave your yacht in the evening to join the lead boat. That way you can enjoy some down time with friends and family.
The skippered flotilla holiday is priced at the cost of a normal flotilla, plus a supplement of £600 per yacht per week. That’s only £150 per person, if four of you are sharing a yacht. If you are aiming to gain your ICC you will also need to pay the certification fee for the ICC on return to the UK.
Which certificate can I get? At the end of a successful week's sailing and assessment, beginners will be proud owners of the RYA Level 2 Sailing certificate. More experience? Then use the week to aim towards your International Certificate of Competence (ICC) . We will assess you at the level of Day Skipper, so you must have lots of sailing knowledge and be up to Day Skipper level before the assessment. If you’re willing to put in a bit more work on your holiday you can work towards the RYA Day Skipper (you’ll also need
to have completed your Day Skipper theory before leaving the UK). If you’re doing the Day Skipper qualification and also want to get your ICC, you just have to send off for the ICC certificate from the RYA website (free to RYA members, £43 for non-members).
