KAYAKING AND STAND UP PADDLE BOARDING

Sparkling shallow sea, the gentle splash of paddle against water and the warm sun on your back. Paddle your way along Mediterranean coastlines to secluded bays and idyllic beaches. Sounds pretty perfect hey? It could be you. Just hop in (or on) and get going. Kayaking and stand up paddle boarding are free at any of our beachclubs.

Kayaking

Every beachclub has sit-on-top kayaks for one or two people. They can be taken out independently whenever the beach is open or you could join us on a kayak safari. If you’re itching to get out and about, this is a great way to explore and keep your cool. Sign up with the beach crew, grab a kayak, buoyancy aid and paddle and head out on safari with one of the team.

Kayak courses If you want to learn the best way forward, join one of our British Canoe Union (BCU) courses. The courses are included in your holiday and are only available at the Retreat Beachclub.

BCU one star will guide you through the basics including starter strokes, perfect for absolute beginners. Or, if you fancy taking your kayaking to the next level, join the two star course. You’ll be learning rescue techniques and some pretty cool paddle skills.

Stand up paddle boarding

(SUP) Make the most of the fantastic flat water at some of our beachclubs and give stand up paddle boarding a go. It doesn’t take much to get started, with just a few pointers and one of our super stable inflatable boards, you’re ready to go.

It’s an inclusive activity and the boards are sitting on the beach ready to go whenever you are. Everywhere you look, you’ll notice people taking to the water on a SUP, it’s that easy! Aside from being brilliant fun, stand up paddle boarding is a great form of exercise, especially for toning those tummy muscles!
