CYCLING

Take a break from splashing through puddles and dodging the rain on your daily commute or

weekend rides and hit the trails (or roads ) in the warmth and sunshine at one of our beachclubs.

Get in the saddle to discover winding hillside roads, shady olive groves and rocky pine forests. There is a wide variety of rides for different skill and fitness levels. Whether it’s a gentle ride to the best coffee and cake shop around or testing climbs for the more gung-ho, there’s something for you.

Mountain biking If you’re a mountain biker, you can’t fail to notice the endless possibilities for riding around our beachclubs. The potential is huge with endless rolling trails and exciting descents. We’ve got 'leisure' rides, which are just as they sound. Ride to nearby beaches, local towns and villages. Between 5-25km with little or no off-road terrain and the odd small hill to climb, they’ll get the blood pumping (but just a little bit).

If real off-road riding is for you, with challenging climbs and bumpy descents, sign up for the 'sport' rides. You'll be exploring the local wilderness rather than coffee shops.

You don’t have to cover epic distances. 'Leisure' rides of between 5-40km are just enough to stretch your legs or as a taster session for newbies. If it’s your first time on a road bike, top road riding tips from the guides will get you started.

If you're ready for an endurance challenge and the buzz of the open road, join our 'sport' rides and get some serious miles under your belt.

Best for riding If your life revolves around cycling, you need to pay a visit to Baia dei Mori (see page 42), Retreat (see page 50) or Messini (see page 62) Beachclubs. Baia dei Mori Beachclub in particular is shaping up to be the best of the best, with some fantastic on and off road riding.

At these beachclubs, there's not only great riding, but also more bike guides, a greater variety of routes and number of rides. What’s more, there’s another
