Welcome to the Stage Diary, a column that since it was first launched in 2007, has become a major central point of reference to amdram on the Costa Blanca. Not only is it a guide to what’s on in all the regions, but is also an important on-line introduction to potential expats researching community life in Spain. The diary also acts as a planning guide to assist groups avoid unnecessary clashes of production dates.


A special welcome to new additions, ‘Valley Voices’ and ‘Caprice.’ Also the return of: ‘The Adhoc Players.’


Adhoc Players Theatre Group: After a two year pause, Adhoc are back on track with all legal documents in place! Their aims


are to have fun and raise money for needy causes. Next play, a comedy version of ‘The 39 Steps’ scheduled for October and November. If you would like to join as an actor or background assistance, pop into any rehearsal day; Mondays and Wednesdays at 7pm in Bar Sacko’s in El Limonar!


Cantabile Ladies Choir: Fresh from their concert at Torrevieja Casino, Cantabile finished their spring programme at La Siesta Church on 14th May which marked the final performance with M.D. Jennifer Morton in charge. If you are interested in joining a group of sociable,

Caprice: After their first few rehearsals, the group are taking a summer break from 15th June until the beginning of September. If you enjoy singing madrigals and light operetta in four part harmony, with a modern

After Careline’s latest show written by Andy Crabb, the group is looking for actors to join them for their next autumn production of, ‘The Full Monty’. They need male and female actors for this great fun play based on the UK acclaimed movie, including its great music and novel idea. Should be great fun. Surprise finale! Costa Barber Singers: The Barber Shop Singers now have a new rehearsal venue, Casal D’asociaciones in Benissa where new singers are always welcome. The group teach four-part acapella harmony without the need to learn to read music. It’s a fun hobby and they perform for charity. Costa Blanca Male Voice Choir: After a successful tour to Lloret de Mar and a concert with the Basingstoke Ladies Choir, the Choir enters the final stage of its Summer season with a concert in Teulada, Friday 1st July in aid of

Footlights Theatre Group: Over the past few months, Footlights has been completing their 2015 donations. These include money, free standing fans and clothes for the Gargasindi School, Red Cross, Men’s Refuge Gandia and The Royal British Legion. In November they will be performing a variety show, and as always, welcome any interested people to come along and join them.
