Page 13 "Why did I keep that?"

We've all done it... stored clothes away which really should have been consigned to the bin! It's this time of year that we begin to get out our bikinis and swimsuits, and all too often they are stretched, faded, out of fashion or we ourselves have lost (or gained!) weight.

So here is a quick guide to knowing your body type, because this makes a big difference when it comes to choosing a new swimsuit which best suits you.

Choose bright patterned fabrics to highlight your best features and darker colours to downplay your less-loved parts.

To add volume (such as to the bust or hips) choose a piece with ruffles in that area.

To hide volume (such as on the waist) use shirred or ruched fabric.

Select the right cut: - A one-piece will hide your waist.

- A tankini will highlight your waist but not so much your hips or bust.

- Boyshorts make your hips look wider, regardless of colour. - High-cut bikini bottoms make legs look longer. - Halter tops draw attention to the bust, as do triangular tops.

- Tie-front bikini tops draw the eye to the bust, as well as making it look larger.

- For a large bust, look for a straight across cut at the top of your swimsuit with wide set straps to minimise your bust. Try a bikini top with an underwire and a thick chest band for extra support.

If in doubt ask a professional for help. Here are two

shops who will be more than happy to help you

find the perfect swimsuit for you.

*Please note that the pictures do not necessarily represent actual stock at each of the underwear and bikini outlets...but both shops have a wide selection of swimwear.

We’ve got the figures!
