Quitting smoking is not easy. We all know that. All smokers know one person who believes that all you need is will power and who in the worst case will say that smoking is the world’s stupidest vice and to smoke is to kill yourself. It is still not easy to quit.
First we must understand that this addiction consists of several aspects, both physiological and psychological. The addiction to cigarettes is not an addiction to a single substance as it has always been said. Smoking (although socially unacceptable to say) produces pleasure, and as with any other addiction, pleasure is what drives us to continue to do it. It is not a simple addiction
to nicotine or the act of inhaling and
exhaling; it is not an addiction to seeing smoke. It’s not even simply a habit; rather it consists of one or more of these elements and in each smoker the combination can be very different.
The electronic cigarette has managed to produce and simulate, almost completely, all aspects of smoking, although still, vaping is not 100% equal to smoking and therefore takes a while to adapt to. During this period you may continue to smoke, but usually, eventually most people stop smoking altogether. For others it is very difficult to stop completely and some people even abandon vaping when they find they can’t stop smoking completely.
During this period, which varies in time depending on each person, you may feel that you are lacking something; that vaping does not completely satisfy you. This can be caused by many reasons, but the most common are the following:
Poor vapor production, either not enough taste or not enough nicotine. Most probably your equipment is not as good as the seller made it seem and therefore its performance is not the best; this happens more often in small devices that are very similar to a real cigarette.
The idea is to find a device that, although does not look like an analog cigarette, has a larger battery and use larger atomizers that are able to produce the right amount of vapor.
Despite having good equipment, some people still do not feel the physical effect of the nicotine.
If you have a good device but you still have the urge to smoke, the chances are you’re using a liquid with too low nicotine concentration than you require. This can make you vape continuously and make you use your electronic cigarette much more often than you used to light a cigarette. A good way to fix this problem is to have fluid with a high nicotine concentration (18mg / ml) and also one that has the same taste but without nicotine. This is very useful for finding the optimal concentration of nicotine that you require as you can mix both liquids together and keep trying different proportions, and find a concentration that leaves you satisfied.
Finally, asking is better then giving up. I advise you to join some communities or vaping forums, and keep in touch with others for moral support; they can be an important factor to finally be completely free of tobacco smoke.
