Female Focus BARC Wet Nose Day Success
BARC (Busot Animal Rescue Concern) held its now Annual Wet Nose Day on Saturday 7th May. The Registered Charity, which rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes lost and abandoned animals in the area raised 1,500€ and saw a dog adopted at the event.
There was a fun dog show, a dog training exhibition, a line dance show, a live jazz band and many attractions for the kids including a bouncy castle and facepainting.
The market place was a great success, as was the bar and burger stalls. An artwork exhibition for the school children of Busot drew over 150 entries. Fun for all the family, including the four legged members.
Our photos show committee member Tony Brown with his head on the line for the charity. And Annie, winner of best rescue dog, receiving her prize from the judge, and before and after photos of her highlighting the work that we have done.
If you would like to know more about BARC and how to get involved please ring John on 96 597 5470.

Heiko is 4-5 months old, very loving and well behaved and is very easy to train. He is living with another dog and gets on very well with children, so he would fit in anywhere. We think he will be medium to large when fully grown. For more information please telephone PEPA on 650 304 746 or email

Priscilla is a podenca found with a broken leg and brought to the clinic. She now lives together with other dogs. Priscilla is still a little bit scared of people and she will need time to adapt to a new home but it would help if there was another dog around. Call 618 754 635 or
