Merry Christmas Montgó Chorale Doubles Up
This year, Montgó Chorale under the direction of Gordon Lawson, is pleased to announce it will be giving two concerts both in aid of charity. The first will be held in the San Antonio Church in Denia on Saturday 5th December at 6pm. They will be joining the Orféo De Dénia choir under the direction of Klara Sarkadi for a festive concert. Montgó Chorale will sing Christmas carols and the Orféo de Denia will offer various pieces in different styles, including madrigals, classical, ‘zarzuelas’, ‘villancicos’ and the Agnus Dei from Karl Jenkins’ Armed Man. Admission will be €10 each, free for children, and tickets can be obtained from Humpty Dumpty, Javea, Hostal Loreto, Dénia or at the door. Proceeds from this concert will go to support a special project of the ‘Asociación Condenados al Bordillo’. This charity assists people in Dénia with special needs to live independently. If you would like to reserve a ticket to be collected at the door, or require any further information, please contact Jan Dewland on 965 770 973 or by email on
dewlandjan@hotmail.com.
The second concert is a carol concert by the Montgó Chorale. As is the usual custom with their Christmas concerts, the audience is invited to join in with many traditional, well-loved carols we associate with Christmas time. The concert will be held at the Jávea Port’s Loreto Church, sometimes known as the Fisherman’s Church, on Sunday 13th December at 5pm. For this concert, although entry is free the audience is invited to give generously to the retiring collection to support ‘Caritas’, the church’s own charity. There are families in Jávea that rely on the good will of local people to help them through these financially difficult times.
So why not begin your festive season in style? Come and join us in Jávea and Dénia and sample some of the traditional Christmas musical delights on offer, while at the same time supporting worthwhile local charities.
