2 NEW AMBULANCES have just arrived to join the ambulance fleet at Asociación Amigos Europeos de Jávea. One is based in Calpe and the other in Jávea helping to provide private emergency ambulance cover to almost THE WHOLE OF COSTA BLANCA NORTH.
These brand new ambulances are effectively intensive- care-units-on-wheels and have the very latest life saving equipment aboard. And in fact the very first emergency outing of new Ambulance No 11 (pictured) was to rush a British woman, who had suffered a heart attack, straight to hospital.
INTERNATIONAL REPATRIATION is another service provided by the Association for patients needing to return to their native countries but who cannot fly. Recently ambulances have been despatched with a patient to Oslo, another with a patient to Switzerland, and another carrying a patient to meet a private medical aeroplane.
Whether it be because of a medical condition, or from fear of flying, sometimes international road travel is necessary. The ambulances from Asociación Amigos Europeos de Jávea are fast, comfortable, and allow for a doctor or nurse to travel with the patient if required.
