Eating at the Festival


As well as some great food in the exhibitor marquees here are some other ideas of where you can eat at the Festival this year. Many restaurants, delis, cafés and pubs will be running special menus and events so keep a look out on our website (www.dartmouthfoodfestival.com/events) and around town but here are some of the ones already planned.

Drop into the Avenue Gardens for lots of lovely things to taste from a selection of our lovely local suppliers and restaurants. Open to young people who may bring a responsible adult!!


Once again we’re kicking off the main Festival events with a fabulous feast in the Flavel. Hosted by serin & simon of Dartmouth Fine Foods and co-ordinated by Julie Graham, the evening will celebrate the culinary joys of the season, with a wholesome and warming autumn feast comprising canapes on arrival, a trio of fish starter, delicious local pork main and an autumnal tart to follow. From 7.00pm Local fishmonger Mark Lobb will be recreating his fish stall in Browns Hotel. Choose your fish from a huge display, talk to Mark while he fillets it, before the chefs at Browns cook it for you. £30 for 2 courses. Booking essential : contact Browns on 01803 832572.

Wine and Food Matching

sponsored and hosted by The Royal Castle Hotel, this evening will be led by Luca soldo, who is the ambassador for Antinori, an Italian company who have been making wine for 500 years. 6.30 – 7.30pm sponsored and hosted by emilia Ltd and slow Food uK, join Italian chef Giuseppe Calcagno (Chef Patron of Ciullosteria in south London) for a demonstration of traditional Italian pasta dishes given a modern twist and Italian roast pork and then enjoy a tasting plate of his creations washed down with a glass of finest Prosecco. 6.00pm and 9.00pm (2 sittings)


This small family run business is offering a 3 course meal (main course consists of meat or veggie sharing platter) with a welcome glass of Prosecco and house wine to accompany your meal. The cost of this is up to you – just pay what you think the meal is worth and all profits will go to local charity Children’s Hospice south West. A Walk on the Wild Side

From 7.00pm Join James & Clare as they host a special festival menu at Browns Hotel inspired by the stunning south Hams surroundings. enjoy 4 courses of local autumnal food paired with some serious terroir driven natural wines. £39 (wines not included).
