crabbing. I have always found Dartmouth such

an inspiring place. The ever-changing light and tides on the river means that the views are never the same. I sit for hours, not picking up a paintbrush or pencil and just absorbing the view and watching the river change. It is after this period that I find myself reaching for my sketchbook or camera to document the changes. I use this time to look and my sketches are like a memory bank of images to work from. I think this allows me to capture the beauty and atmosphere of the landscape and the river. My paintings are very colourful and

people often comment that I must be a happy person to paint like this which I am. I think Dartmouth can have that effect on people living here or visiting. It’s hard not to look out of the window and be amazed at where we live. If my work captures this moment I am so happy.”
