IAAPA Show Report At Intamin, Sascha Czibulka commented: “Despite the attendance numbers
showing another record year, we sensed that there were fewer visitors from Europe and Asia. Considering the two strong events earlier this year in the respective regions, this makes quite some sense. And at least regarding the Europeans it is a trend we can observe for a few years now. “Overall,” he continued, “we were quite satisfied with this year’s IAE in
2014 IAAPA Attractions Expo third largest ever!
THE IAAPA Attractions Expo took place at its usual venue in Orlando, the Orange County Convention Centre, from November 17 to 21, with over 30,000 attendees – exhibitors and buyers – from 116 countries coming to Florida for the attractions industry’s largest event of the year, making it the biggest event in more than 17 years and the third largest in the Expo’s history. Of the total visitor figure, more than 19,400 were buyers who were able
to view and sample the products and services displayed by 1,004 companies on 551,975 net sq.ft of trade show floor space. Indeed, the indoor exhibit space was sold out back in September and the outdoor

November’s Expo and the exhibitors InterPark spoke to were delighted with the audience the trade show provided and the response they received. “It’s been excellent,” said Peter Theunisz of Dutch company KMG. “On the
first day we sold an Inversion to US carnival operator Chad Duchow which will be ready for December this year and shipped to the Gibsonton trade show in 2016. We also sold an Inversion to Butler Amusements, again in the US, for delivery in November this year and which will also be shipped to Gibsonton for the February 2016 event. The same applies to another Inversion we’ve sold to All Around Amusements while another, this time a park model, has been confirmed for a European company (further details were not available at the time of writing). So we are obviously very happy with the show and all the sales we’ve confirmed.”

Orlando, especially in respect to the quality of the contacts and the talks we had during the four days. We were busy throughout the entire show, although the first day did not seem to be as busy as last year’s record opening day. And besides all the new products we were able to show to our clients, we were also very pleased with Thursday’s social evening event at Universal. The new Harry Potter ride was extremely well received and created quite some interest.” “The record attendance at this year’s at IAAPA was evident as WhiteWater’s
50+ sales force barely had a moment to take a breath,” noted WhiteWater’s Julie Zakus. “We met with clients from over 50 countries and revealed several original innovations to the industry. Our presence was highly visible with 130ft. of booth space on the main aisle, receipt of two major awards, participation on panels and education programmes and a continuous stream of media coverage. The show concluded with the highest number of leads generated in over 30 years.”
At coaster specialist Martin & Vleminckx, Chuck Bingham was also pleased
with the outcome of the event. “We had a good show with positive input from customers and some new
contacts, one being very positive,” he commented. “We always go to the show knowing that keeping our name in the market is the objective, so when we get positive responses from those we are working with and new contacts, the show was a success.” And it wasn’t just the ride manufacturers who enjoyed a fruitful few days.
Sebastian Mochkovsky of revenue management system specialist Sacoa was another happy exhibitor. “It was one of the best IAAPA shows ever,” he said. “I found lot of
opportunities coming from new potential customers as well as existing ones doing new projects or adding expansions. I had a non-stop show, even starting with early meetings up to late at night. Friday was supposed to be the slowest (day), but actually for us it was as good as the other days. I
