Asian growth for PGAV ASIA

PGAV Destinations, the US-based planning and design group, was involved in numerous high-profile leisure projects in 2014, with high-growth Asian markets leading the way. “It’s been a fantastic year,” said Mike Konzen, principal and chair of

PGAV. “We’ve experienced unprecedented growth in all of our markets, including zoos, museums, theme parks and more. “As the global economy continues to rebound, we’re seeing new and

long-standing clients eager to innovate and expand their offerings for their guests, here and abroad.” When Chimelong Ocean Kingdom (pictured) opened on Henquin

Island, China, it immediately set five Guinness Book of World Records, most notably the ‘World’s Largest Aquarium.’ Ocean Kingdom, which blurs the lines between thrilling rides and immersive animal habitats and serves as the group’s first full theme park masterplan and design in Asia, also won the Themed Entertainment Association’s award for outstanding achievement. In addition to the Asian theme park, PGAV created the Heart of Africa

attraction at Columbus Zoo, US, along with other projects for a museum in St. Louis and at PortAventura in Spain.
