USE CERTIKIN’S COMMERCIAL EXPERTISE… THAT’S WHAT IT’S THERE FOR! Certikin’s commercial division is there to sell products, naturally, but the team are also happy to give free technical advice. Filtration, is a classic case in point where seeking expert help pays dividends. Commercial Manager, Steve Nelson, explains: “A successful and efficient commercial filtration system requires accurate velocity and filtration rates to be taken into account. Sizing equipment is what we do everyday at Certikin. Our portfolio features an extensive range of commercial filters including the hugely popular SLX and SLX Plus and can tailor make a filtration solution for every pool.” The market leading SLX Plus bobbin wound filter comes complete with side manhole hatch and 3 inch sight glass as standard (on the SLX these features are optional extras). The filter boasts the very

depths are also available. Certikin’s exclusive Vision bobbin wound domestic filters are bestsellers in their sector.
The range offers unrivalled features such as a huge 10 inch wide clear lid making sand changes quicker and easier and a dual dump port arrangement means a small outer cap can be removed for drainage and a larger secondary cap assists with the removal of the media. The Top Mount Vision is the only one of its kind to feature a clear valve mounting ring, allowing full view of the filter in operation whilst the pump is running. And for your peace of mind, both side and top mount models come with an impressive ten year full tank warranty for residential installations.

Improved Performance With Dryden Aqua’s AFM® (Activated Filter Media) A replacement for sand in filters, AFM®
has been subjected
to ETV (Environmental Technology Verification) and is being used as a test product for the development of a new ISO standard on ETV. Certification is important, but certification is not verification that a product is actually fit for purpose. ETV will bench mark products and will test their ability to actually perform in the manner described by the manufacturer. AFM® has already been extensively tested and compared against a range of filter media by the independent accredited laboratory IFTS in France.
Recent tests conducted by IFTS on grade 0 AFM® (0.25 to
0.50mm psd) have confirmed a very high performance, >97% removal of all particles above 1 micron and >99.8% above 5 microns. Tests were conducted at a water velocity of 20m/hr with no pre-coagulation or flocculation. AFM®
grade 0 can therefore
remove cryptosporidium and most parasites and large bacteria found in water. Grade 1 (0.4 to 1.0mm psd) almost gave the same performance down to 4 microns. AFM®

replacement for sand used in most drinking water gravity flow and pressure filtration systems. The benefits of AFM®
include:
• Reduces turbidity by more than 50% in most cases • Provides protection against parasites such as cryptosporidium • Gives 100% back-wash efficiency • Is guaranteed for ten years (should last 50), returned to Dryden Aqua at end of filters life for recycling
• Provides an activated mesoporous surface. Surface area is increased x 300 times to absorb small particles, dissolved organics and heavy metals
• Use in freshwater and marine applications, drinking water to the treatment of tertiary wastewater, from 0 to 90°C
• Can be used for standard coagulation and flocculation to aid the removal of more dissolved organics and sub-micron particles.
