Spring Air Launches Two New Specialty Bed Line-Ups
By Gretchen Kast Spring Air continues to help retailers drive business by strategically expanding its port- folio with two new specialty foam mattress introductions at the upcoming Winter Las Vegas Market. First launched in 2010 with a patented, multi-level spring unit, Spring Air’s Sleep Sense Collection has been expanded to include a new specialty foam line. The new 2015 Sleep Sense line features varying lay- ers and combinations of memory foam, latex and gel, to offer optimum levels of support and comfort for sleepers’ shoulders, hips and backs. With non-quilted, zippered cov- ers and different border treatments than the innerspring versions, the collection is intend- ed to broaden retailer specialty options and consumer choices under Spring Air’s popu- lar Sleep Sense product brand.
“The original Sleep Sense innerspring se- ries has really grown and expanded, espe-
cially in the past few years, and we felt the time was right to introduce this unique, all- foam sister collection,” said company presi- dent Rick Robinson. Spring Air will also introduce the new Back Supporter Grand Award specialty line in Las Vegas, a collection inspired by the compa- ny’s memory foam bed that Consumer Re- ports recently ranked highest in performance among other top U.S. bedding brands. The featured Back Supporter model was tested and rated by the magazine for main- taining spinal alignment for side-sleepers and proper curvature for back sleepers, for main- taining durability over eight years of simulated use, and for attributes like stabilization. The bed also was checked as “Recommended” and credited in the report for resisting side-to- side bounciness (sleep partner disturbance) and for enabling ease of movement. While based on the “Consumer Reports memory foam bed” the three new Grand
Award specialty models use different levels and combinations of memory foam and gel, and will be accompanied by new dramatic visual effects and point-of-sale treatments. The new Grand Award and Sleep Sense all-foam beds “give retailers two highly at- tractive options in the specialty category where velocity prices are ranging from $1199 to $1,999,” Robinson explained. The retail price for the Grand Award Col- lection starts at $999 in queen, while the new Sleep Sense all-foam beds begin at $1,299. Visit

Sealy Delivers Superior Support with Updated Posturepedic Series
By Christopher Schriever To celebrate its 65th anniversary, Sealy Pos- turepedic is introducing three new series of mattresses at the upcoming Winter Las Ve- gas Market. Continuing the brand’s commit- ment to being a leader in innerspring tech- nology, these new collections were designed to deliver unparalleled support, durability and comfort. The Posturepedic Series delivers unsur- passed back support, along with the comfort consumers have come to expect from the brand. The specially engineered Embrace encased coil system responds to the natural curves and alignment of the spine, while the exclusive CoreSupport Center provides add- ed support and durability where it is needed the most. An additional layer of gel memory foam ensures body-conforming comfort that consumers can feel. Building upon this new
collection, Sealy is also introducing the Pos- turepedic Plus Series at the Las Vegas Market. This unique collection offers more memory foam and more densely packed encased coils for added comfort and back support. The final market introduction is the new
Posturepedic Premier Hybrid Series. The per- fect combination of half foam and half springs, this series combines superior conformance with the back support you need to sleep well in both firm and soft models. The Zoned Sealy Embrace Plus Coils conforms to the body, decreases motion transfer and, with 30 per- cent more coils in the center zone, provides advanced support to the areas that need the most pressure relief. With a layer of gel mem- ory foam and a breathable fabric border, this hybrid series allows for maximum airflow to help keep the sleep environment comfortable throughout the night.
The new Sealy Posturepedic collections serve as important additions to Tempur- Sealy’s comprehensive brand portfolio. Fol- lowing the merger of the two companies in 2013, the full bedding line-up of includes products for almost every consumer prefer- ence and price point.
