After the recruitment was over, it was time to elect new Executive Committee wherein, by way of bal- lot system, President, Vice President, Secretary, Communication Officers and Treasurer were elect- ed. Anubhab Sarkar from Fourth Year was elected as the President of the International Law Society at KIIT School of Law for the current academic year.

The International Law Society is currently organiz- ing the First KSOL National Law Quiz Competition to be held on 25 and 26 February, 2014 during the Annual College Fest Karvaan’14 wherein the semi- final and final rounds will be solely dedicated to in- ternational law questions. The competition would aim to promote the habit of quizzing among the law students from variant law colleges through- out the country, thereby laying a special emphasis on the arena of international law and its develop- ments. The Society is also on the verge of starting


a Bi-monthly International Law Newsletter with the first issue of Volume I to be released during the first week of February 2014. Each issue would have a cover story throwing light on an internation- al event and would contain small articles on differ- ent aspects of International Law written by college students as well as faculty members. The news- letter would also contain highlights of important international events which made it to headlines in the two months.


The society is also planning to organize a Work- shop and Lecture series on International Law and is in the middle of discussion with eminent Indian scholars on International Law like Prof. Dr. Manoj Kumar Sinha (Former Director of Indian Society of International Law), Prof. V S Mani (Renowned Scholar of International Space Law), Prof. Dr. A. David Ambrose (Renowned Scholar of Internation- al and Constitutional Law) etc. The workshop is tentatively scheduled to be held sometime in the month of March 2014. Other future plans include organizing an International Moot Court Competi- tion, publishing an annual Journal on International Law and organizing an Intra College Essay Com- petition.

Concordia University has recently formed an ILSA Chapter, named after the famous Idaho Senator and Attorney, Frank Church. Elections were held in December 2013, resulting with the following offi- cers: President – James Corpstein, Vice President – Nick Weeks, Treasurer – Pamela Murray, Secre- tary – Stephanie Ray, and Public Relations – Jason Gustaves. Our goal is to develop a robust and ac- tive membership engaged in building relationships with professionals, serving the community, and increasing educational opportunities.
