ILSA Chapter Happenings

Our members grow every day and we are happy to share with them news and events happening in and around the Hague which has a lot to offer as a city of peace and justice. You can find us through this web link: https://www.facebook.com/pages/ HHS-ILSA-Chapter/171662403033847.

Another initiative of our Chapter was motivated by the fact that the Hague University of Applied Sci- ences is an institutions focusing on the practical education of its students and in order to graduate each and every one of us has to complete a six- month internship in the field of law. The Hague and the Netherlands offer a lot of possibilities for stu- dents interested in Public International Law, Inter- national Criminal Law, Human Rights Law, Europe- an Law and, of course, Corporate and Commercial Law. We decided to launch our own handbook, which is in fact a non-exhaustive database where students will be able to find some of the most in- triguing and challenging internships from the re- gion. The handbook will be in digital form and will be available to all students of the International and European Law program. We are still considering whether to include also tips on finding the most suitable internship and dos and don’ts during inter- views. Overall, we are very happy with the prog- ress we have made in making this happen.

Lastly but not less importantly, our Chapter has the honour to host a discussion on February 11th, 2014 with Ms. Claire Duffy, Program Manager of the In- ternational Bar Association International Criminal Court Program in the Hague. We have reached to Ms. Duffy as an expert in the field of witness pro- tection in international criminal trials and are very pleased to have her talk about her experience in working for an international organization and the possibilities available for young professionals to launch such a career.

Overall, the HHS ILSA Chapter has had a very busy year and we are thrilled to be instrumental to set- ting such an organization within our program. We look forward to another exciting year full and we
