The Program aims mainly at offering a comprehensive analysis of current and prospective trends in the field of international law in an era of globalization, as well as in that of international trade and investments, and in the methods for arbitration and settlement of disputes in these
areas.The impact of globalization on sources and subjects of international law will be examined.

The Programme will furnish students with substantive knowledge of Hong Kong law in core common law subjects and develop skills neces- sary to engage with the common law tradition widely. Students will also be given opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the common law, or complement it with the study of new subjects. Core subjects include Common Law: Origins and Development; Principles of Contract; Principles of Criminal Law; Principles of Tort.
The Programme focuses on legal issues arising from international business activity and the practical skills and knowledge to support cross-border commercial transactions. It covers the theoretical and the practical side of the law governing international deals from the viewpoint of Hong Kong as a regional centre for global trade and invest- ment. Core subjects include Law of International Business Transactions; Trans-national Legal Problems; World Trade Law.
The LL.M. Program in Chinese Law is a graduate law program which focuses on Chinese civil and commercial law and offers foreign law students and legal professionals an excellent opportunity to study Chinese law and legal process. English is the medium of instruction. Applicants are admitted on a rolling basis throughout the year.

The Master of Laws (LL.M.) Degree in International and Comparative Law is intended for law school graduates who seek to acquire the intellectual and analytical tools to intervene critically and effectively in the global policy debates confronting their societies, as policy mak- ers, practicing lawyers, judges, academics, activists or international civil servants.
