ILSA Chapter Happenings

delve deeper in matters of such fields as Law of the Seas and other customary international law is- sues.

Finally, the Chapter is currently working on devel- oping a website which is under construction. The purpose of the site is to solicit, promote and pub- lish articles online in the field of international law from members. The added online presence will hopefully lead to greater activity and enthusiasm in writing and reading about international law among students and members of the UG ILSA Chapter.

Hopefully, the next Chapter Happenings will chronicle a list of all these detailed programs as having been successfully achieved in the life of a relatively young but promising chapter of the UG ILSA Chapter.

It will be unfair to end without mentioning the enormous assistance of our lecturer and patron, Mr. William Kissi Agyebeng, who was very instru- mental in inaugurating the UG ILSA Chapter in 2013.

The Hague University of Applied Sciences (HHS) ILSA Chapter is very proud to announce that with- in a year of its establishment, it had its first fully operational year in 2013. The founding members worked hard to prepare all necessary documents and build the framework of the organization. We were backed by the faculty of the International and European Law program at the Hague University of Applied Sciences and by the Bynkershoek Institute of the Hague. We were also very happy to see our organization grow from five founding members to a group of twenty members passionate about Law who want to learn more and help build a network with other ILSA Chapters around the globe.

The HHS ILSA Chapter is one of the two student- led organizations within the International and Eu- ropean Law program dedicated entirely to the field of Law. Its encourages student participation and has as its primary objectives to create a bridge between the students of all years at the Law pro- gram at the Hague University of Applied Sciences, to create networking opportunities, to organize in- formative discussions, to share experiences and to give exclusive access to its members to many useful information about conferences, exchange programs, internships and masters.

To achieve these goals, the HHS ILSA Chapter has undertaken various initiatives in the last year. The founding members actively promoted not only our Chapter but also the International Law Student Association during Student Forums and many dis- cussions with students and faculty members. Our chapter was also listed within the program bro- chure in the section extra-curricular activities. We were very happy to see the response from the stu- dents and we decided to create a Facebook page to interact with them via the social media tools.
