The Fletcher School’s LL.M. is a post-graduate, full-time academic degree for legal professionals who wish to obtain specialized education in a particular area of international law. Fletcher’s LL.M. is intended to provide a broader contextual understanding—not only of the law but also of the disparate societies and inter-societal milieu in which it is made, interpreted, and applied.
The program immerses students in the US legal system and prepares them for the challenges of work in a global legal com- munity. Students choose courses from the Law School’s extensive curriculum. We do not offer subject area tracks, but our curriculum affords students ample opportunity to specialize if they wish. The options include business law, constitutional law, international law, and more.
Michigan Law’s small LL.M. and S.J.D. programs ensure individual- ized attention for every student and full integration with the JDs. The programs are both rigorous and flexible, allowing specialization in any given field of interest. Students benefit from the vast resources of the Law School and the University, and enjoy the friendly, yet cosmopolitan, atmosphere of a lively university town.
