Winners of the Wind Farm Grant Funds...

Through the Braes of Doune Community Benefi t Fund, the co-owners of the Wind farm, Greencoat Capital and Hermes GPE Infrastructure Fund continue to provide grant funding to community groups in the Dunblane Community Council area.

Since 2007 our community has been given over £92,000 by the owners of Braes of Doune Wind Farm.

This year, the Dunblane Windfarm Committee, which comprises representatives of Dunblane Community Council, Dunblane Development Trust, and the Community at large, awarded grants to a wide range of community groups.

Some 25 local groups applied for funding this year, and awards were made to 19 of them including Dunblane Fencing Group, Kinbuck Community Group, Ashfi eld Village Association,Dunblane Youth and Sports Centre, Dunblane Cathedral Arts Guild, The Food Train and the Duke of Edinburgh’s award scheme group at the High School.

The total amount received from Greencoat/ Hermes GPE Infrastructure Fund this year was £14,545 and the competition for next year’s awards will start in early Autumn of 2014.

It is hoped that the Committee will continue to receive applications from groups working across as wide a cross section of the community as possible.

The Windfarm Benefi t continues to be administered by Dunblane Development Trust and further details of the awards can be found on Dunblane.Info
