Kay’s Slimming World Story


It is now almost 12 months to the day that I took one of the best decisions of my adult life. I joined Slimming World and my world has changed inside and out....


Having always struggled with my weight and tried every weight loss regime there was, I knew I had to do something different. I had seen the weight loss success a colleague at work was having and resolved on 3rd January 2013 to give Slimming World a go.


11 months later I have lost over 4 stone, I am down from a size 16 to a size 8/10 and I feel fabulous. I so loved the whole eating plan, the Slimming World philosophy and the supportive, fun


group experience. My


passion was fired up and I knew I wanted to give something back and support others to make positive changes to their lives, I wanted to help to enable others to feel good in their own skin and like what the see in the mirror. On October 22nd I took over the Dunblane Slimming World Group in Braeport and I love my new role. Its fabulous to see the delight and joy members have when they receive their awards for their weight losses and begin to feel better about themselves.


The most common thing people say when they come back after their first week is: “I can’t believe I will have lost weight - I have eaten so much.” Invariably however, they do because the eating plan is easy and effective and you need never feel hungry.


I enjoyed being able to eat filling, tasty, delicious food without having to count calories or weigh and measure everything.

Some of my favourite Slimming World meals are lasagne and chips, spaghetti Bolognese, chilli and rice. It’s all normal, everyday food and food that the whole family can eat. My children loved the recipes and my son for his birthday recently cooked a delicious cod, asparagus and parma ham Slimming World recipe. Having the children involved has been a real bonus and joy for me. As well as feeling full and enjoying healthy meals I also enjoyed the fact that I could still eat my treats and have some of my beloved chocolate every day if I wanted to.


Going to my Group every Tuesday evening became a large part of my week as I developed great friendships with other members. We shared recipes, gave mutual support and encouragement and it was always positive, affirming and friendly.


If you are thinking you would like to lose some weight and make a new start for the new year, I would strongly recommend you join us at Braeport on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm. You don’t need to have to have 4 stone to lose, many people come wanting to shed half a stone or those extra Christmas pounds! Everyone is guaranteed a warm friendly welcome and a whole host of support, encouragement and motivation. Go on, take that step, I know its the best step I have made to change my life for the better and I have not looked back :)
