• Sunday October 13th, Forth Valley Friends of Scottish Opera. Scottish Opera is touring Scotland this autumn with a new, small-scale production of Handel’s Rodelinda. It comes to Stirling’s macrobert on October 15th and on the preceding Sunday we welcome Anne Higgins, the Manager of the Friends, who will give us an introduction to the plot and the characters. All very welcome. 2.30 pm, Smith Art Gallery and Museum, Stirling. Members £5, Visitors £6, Students £1.
• Monday 14th October, Dunblane Arthritis Care meeting will be a Games Day followed by pre November AGM discussion. People interested in our branch activities for 2014 contact Dolly Gemmell 822387 or

• Monday 14 October, The Guild meet at 2.00pm, Cathedral Hall. We have an informal “Getting to know you” meeting when we hope to renew old friendships and make new ones. Plans for the coming year will be discussed and Jenni Barr will be explaining our link with Mvano (the women’s group) in Likhubula.
• Monday, 14 October, Dunblane Civic Society meets at 7:30pm in the Braeport Centre. Amy Cox, Royal Zoological Society of Scotland will give a talk on “The Scottish Wildcats’ Fight for Survival” All welcomed. Visitors admission £2. Please note that this talk was scheduled for October 2012 but was cancelled on the day due to illness.
• Sunday 27th October, Holmehill Community Buyout invites you to a spooky Hallowe’en themed afternoon for families and children of all ages. Fun activities, refreshments, and jam & chutney sales in the Braeport Centre, from 3.30 - 5.30pm. Short spooky walks on Holmehill. Fancy dress encouraged. More details nearer the time. Look out for posters, or phone 01786 821823.
• Monday 28 October, The Guild “Dunblane Cathedral’s got Talent” is the title of our meeting on at 7.30pm. Six musicians from the congregation will be show-casing their instrumental and vocal skills in a very varied programme. Visitors are always welcome.
• Advance Notice: Art Unlimited Exhibition, 2nd & 3rd November, Ashfield Village Hall 10.30-4pm. See page 11 for more information.
• Advance Notice: A Charity Christmas Card sale organised by 4th Dunblane Guides will be held in the Victoria Halls, Dunblane on Saturday 4th November from 10 - 12noon. Entry is free and refreshments are available for a small charge. Many local charities will be in attendance selling cards and Christmas gifts
