Hello & welcome to our 4TH BIRTHDAY EDITION!
Well, it’s been quite a month for birthdays! Erskines clocking up a fantastic 50 years in business, Carpet Master a terrifi c 20 and theWire, a fabulous four years! OK, it’s not quite 50 or even 20 but I’m still very proud. Thanks for all the kind words of support, a brief congratulatory drink may be in order ;)
This issue is again bursting at the seams with the return of our writing competition with Figment Creativity.
If you haven’t entered before, get
some tips and advice from Laura at Figment and then send her your amazing stories and poems. I know they will be amazing because previous entrants have blown us away with their imagination and talent and this time it could be YOU!
This issue sees another exciting return - Tea@3 held at The Westlands. An
extravaganza of goodies at specially reduced prices from thepoint, all washed down with bubbly and a mouthwatering afternoon tea... well, what’s not to like?? Book early, this event fi lls up fast.
thepoint is adding more glamour to our High Street too, having taken on the old off -licence - very exciting and although we were sad to lose Shenanigans
(happy retirement Shena!), we welcome a new ‘pots and pans’ shop. We suddenly have a vast choice of eateries which is great (and I can personally vouch for the cake in each and every one!) so things are really on the up.
If
you haven’t been down the High Street in a while, take a moment - you’ll be pleasantly surprised. New developments and plans are all around us at the moment, with new housing and possible supermarkets planned. Details of all the proposals are on the Stirling Council website, check them over so you can make some informed opinions about how Dunblane develops.
We also welcome a new guest column from Maggie and Kirsty at Mhor design, who will be able to inspire us with their home design advice. Local clubs and meetings are up and running so check the What’s On guide and remember if you are organising an event, get in touch so we can let everyone else know to come along and support you. Deadline for the November issue is Friday 11th October.
The latest magazine is also available to read online. Extra copies can be found at the Dunblane Centre and at local libraries and shops.
