10 Years - 10 Projects for the Dunblane Centre
… the gift that keeps growing
The Dunblane Centre is coming into its 10th year of operation. To celebrate, we’re putting together a year full of activities. We are proud of the success so far and look forward to the next 10 years with the community.
1. 100 Club This has already started and I hope you’ve all had the chance to buy a number. This is a lottery style draw. You purchase a ‘number’ which costs £12 for the year and you pay this upfront. Each month three numbers are drawn and you can win a cash prize. The cash prize depends on how many are taking part but 40% of the money that comes in will go towards cash prizes and 60% goes to the Centre. Download your application pack now from our website
www.dunblanecentre.co.uk. The fi rst draw has taken place but it’s not too late!!
2. Fundraising Dinner A black tie event – this year’s will be held at the Stirling Management Centre on 23rd November 2013. The night will begin with champagne reception at 7.30pm followed by a three course dinner and entertainment by the fantastic Soul Doctors – a 10 piece blues and soul band. Tickets are £37.50 and are available from the Centre.
3. Anniversary Film A short fi lm commemorating where the Centre has come from, its successes during that time and looking to the future. We’ll also be taking plenty of new footage across the next year, so don’t be too surprised to see cameras around!
4. Commemorative Book We plan to publish a book telling the story of the Centre and documenting the many activities that have taken place in its short history. Our aim is for the publication of the book to coincide with the fi nal events taking place in and around September 2014.
5. Show of Shows Pamela and the team are coordinating a Show of Shows: reprising parts of all shows held over last nine years: Show in a Week, Concerts, Pantos – everything!
6. Refurb & Refresh Not only does a 10 year old building need to be refreshed, but also a rethink on our layout and off erings is needed, so we’ll be refurbishing two main areas •
Youth / café area – to make this more welcoming, relaxing and an area where people can enjoy a quality cup of tea or coff ee and some home-baking. This will include a new toy corner with children’s books, puzzles and toys, new sofas and comfortable chairs and tables.
