Fremantle Media enrols Vivid for Strange Hill High
Vivid Toy Group has signed as master toy licensee for the multimedia comedy-adventure series. Vivid will manufacture and distribute a range of fi gures, playsets and plush, with the fi rst products due to launch in the UK in Spring 2014. The news follows the series’ successful screen debut on CBBC and the recent announcement that the channel has commissioned a further 13 x 30” episodes. Five additional licensees have come on board in core categories: Fashion UK for apparel,
Character World for bedding and bedroom accessories, Kinnerton for confectionery, Blueprint for stationery, and Danilo for greetings cards and calendars. The latest signings join existing licensees Cooneen, Misirli and Spearmark. Premiering on CBBC on 8 May 2013 as CBBC’s number one show of the day for kids aged
6-12, Strange Hill High has regularly retained the top spot amongst the key demographic, outperforming the channel’s timeslot average.
D’arpèje reveals its new Disney heroes
D’arpèje has developed an art and craft line featuring Doc McStuffi ns and Jake and the Never Land Pirates for 2014. D’arpèje’s lines include school desks and activity tables combined with activity sets for children from the age of three years plus. The main features of these colourful products include large creativity and storage spaces, high- quality materials and safety features. The activity sets include colouring sheets, stickers, markers and stamps. D’arpèje also announced its new sports equipment product: the 10” cross scooters. For girls from the age of six years plus, there is a cross scooter featuring Minnie Mouse colours and her emblematic bow, while for boys aged six years and above there is the Monsters University cross scooter. Tactic launches new Disney Planes games
Tactic Games has announced the launch of a Planes range aimed at family entertainment for 2-4 players. The new range is available from August 2013 to
coincide with the release of the animated movie. The launch includes two games in 2013 and a further three games in 2014. 2013 will see the launch of Planes Kimble and Planes Giant action Game. Planes Kimble includes main character from the movie:
Dusty, El Chupacabra, Ripslinger and Rochelle. Planes Giant Action Game can be played indoors or outdoors and includes main movie characters Dusty and El Chupacabra.
BLE confi rms partnerships with research groups
Brand Licensing Europe, the Advanstar-organised exhibition, has confi rmed GfK, NPD Group and Planet Retail as the show’s knowledge partners for 2013. Each of these research groups will participate as exhibitors, contributing to BLE’s content programme, and in two special seminars at the Licensing Academy.
