Princess in waiting S

face-to-face

Toy World spoke to Jakks Pacific about the launch of its’ range based on Disney’s Sofia The First.

ofia The First is the first princess experience for young girls where girls can

learn what it means to be a Princess, and play out Sofia’s world in a compelling way. The story begins as Sofia’s mother marries a King and they move into his castle with his two siblings. Sofia must quickly learn how to be a Princess, and she is given the Magical Talking Amulet, which helps her along the way. Sofia The First is showing fantastic ratings on Disney Junior, occupying the top weekly audience viewership polls.

The main driver of Jakks Pacific’s range is Sofia’s Talking Magical Amulet. It is featured in every episode as part of her everyday outfit, and gives her the power to speak to the animals. To be a real Princess, Sofia must learn honesty, generosity, loyalty and kindness, and our Talking Magical Amulet comes with 12 lesson cards. Kids can hear each lesson by inserting one of the cards into the Amulet, “A Princess looks for good in everyone” or “Believe in your dreams”. Kids can also collect further lessons cards in all of the Sofia role-play range, including feature plush

– Talking Clover, tea sets, tiaras, jewellery, shoes and a camera. Ken Goodisson of Jakks Pacific told Toy World: “The animation’s immediate success has trickled down to consumer demand for

role-play items; girls really want to be Sofia The First, and her Magical Talking Amulet is the main attraction. So far, the trade is already coming back with repeat orders, and this item could be a real hit. Jakks is TV supporting the Amulet in 2013 and will engage with exciting PR for the brand as a whole.
