Agriculture Overview The next three tables show key agricultural commodities in terms of area har- vested (Table 4.3), the value of the harvest (Table 4.4), and the provision of food for human consumption (ranked by weight) (Table 4.5). Sorghum and millet are the major staples in Burkina Faso, while cotton is the major cash crop. Maize, cowpeas, and groundnuts are also important crops grown and consumed in the country.
