generated at the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Group Expo which was held at Drayton Manor Theme Park at the end of August. For the first time since South

Staffordshire Chambers merged with Birmingham and Solihull Chamber of Commerce in 2010, companies were able to take advantage of the wider business opportunities across the region. The event, which featured 28

exhibitors, attracted over 300 visitors – both member and non Chamber members. Louise Marklew, of Chamber member company and exhibitor Team Telemarketing, said: “Inviting non-members meant meeting even more new companies and being exhibitors, gave us the opportunity to maximise on lead generation. It was by far the best event we have attended to meet new business contacts. “Of the many contacts we spoke with, sixteen were identified as quality leads, seven have already converted into meetings and the remaining companies have been spoken with and time scaled to arrange meetings. “Of the meetings attended to date, we have so far proposed on initial trial business circa £25,000.

“The event has raised our company profile, generated contacts and most importantly we will achieve an extremely high return on investment.” Steve Sherran, managing director at Hroc, said: “Delegates showed a

high interest in what we do in the world of advertising, design, public relations and media. As a result we have various meetings in the diary.” The event also presented a well-received seminar programme featuring

international speak Peter Roper, Martina Irwin from Aims Direct, Shaun Thomson from Sandler Training UK and Sean Elson from Pinsent Masons.
