PARTNERS IN BRIEF

A Tamworth accountancy firm is hoping to grab a gong in a major awards scheme for its industry. Adams Moore, based in Albert Road,

Tamworth, has been shortlisted in the Midlands category of the national British Accountancy Awards 2012. The awards recognise excellence in the

accountancy practice community and Adams Moore, is one of just five Midlands businesses shortlisted. Adams Moore partner Martin Crook said:

“We know of many great practices across the region that we may have been up against, so to be one of just five on the shortlist is a real honour and testament to the hard work of our great team.”

Lichfield law firm Ansons Solicitors has become an accredited member of the Law Society’s ‘Conveyancing Quality Scheme’. The Law Society introduced the initiative in

a bid to drive up standards and deter fraud in residential conveyancing. According to Ansons head of residential

property, Julie Tomasik, buying or selling a home is one of the biggest deals that consumers make and it was important to ensure that a professional, high-quality conveyancing service was used. She said: “I have known for many years that

we have provided our clients with an unrivalled service offering high-quality professional advice that ensures the process of buying or selling a house is completed as smoothly and efficiently as possible."

Dains becomes patron O

ne of the largest independent law firms in the West Midlands has joined the growing ranks of Chamber patrons. Dains, originally established in 1926 by Charles Leslie Dain at Lloyds Bank Chambers in Lichfield, is supporting

Lichfield & Tamworth Chamber. The firm has offices in Birmingham, Burton on Trent, Derby, Lichfield, Rugeley and Stoke on Trent,

and a staff of 145, including 20 partners and directors. Today, Dains is a broad ranging professional services firm, which specialises in helping owner-managed and small to medium businesses, and also private individuals, with a variety of services, including accountancy, taxation, audit, business recovery and insolvency and corporate finance. Dains has long been an active member of the Chamber, and has now decided to become a patron as a further sign of the firm’s commitment to the local marketplace. Richard McNeilly, head of business development at the firm, said:

“We believe in nurturing close working relationships with clients, local professionals and the business community as a whole and recognise that this commitment goes beyond sustaining business locally. “We have enjoyed a strong working relationship with the Chamber

for a number of years and in these difficult times, it is essential that organisations like the Chamber continue to exist in order to support businesses as they lead the private sector recovery we all want.” John Southwell, the firm’s head of commercial services, added: “Dains is firmly committed to the SME market and we love working with businesses with ambition and energy. I have seen plenty of evidence to suggest that businesses with links to the Chamber have what it takes to drive success in their business and to prosper.”
