Educating business
Solihull’s business leaders are reaching out to local schools in an effort to strengthen links between education and the world of work. Greater Birmingham & Solihull
Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP) is spearheading the initiative, and Solihull Chamber is aiming to join in by merging its similar ‘Partners in Education’ project. The aim is to create a single,
co-ordinated approach to education/business links in the town.
As part of this, the Chamber is
hosting an event at Solihull College in Blossomfield Road on 9 October for any interested parties to discuss the issue. The event will be co-hosted by Chamber president Alan Volkaerts, who is also the LEP’s key figure for skills. Also taking part will be representatives from Solihull Enterprise and Skills Board and Solihull Metropolitan Borough Skills Visioning Group.
