Families enjoy Eid Mela in the park
More than 50,000 people attended a family fun day at Cannon Hill Park to celebrate the Eid Mela. Now in its 12th year in Birmingham, the event marks the end of the month of fasting for Ramadan and the celebration of Eid-ul-fitr. The Mela family fun day included a
mobile storage system to house nearly 8,500 archive boxes and over 6,000 foolscap box files for more than 200 million comics, magazines and newspapers annually produced by DC Thompson. Scotland’s largest privately owned publisher needed 300 bays of shelving with 32 free standing mobile basis at the refurbished headquarters in Dundee. Dr Norman Watson at DC Thompson & Co Ltd, said: “We knew from their attention to detail at the initial quotation process, that Storwell Systems would get it right first time and we were not disappointed. The system was delivered on time and installed within four days. It’s easy to use and thanks to the great work of Chief Archivist, Lena Mitford, we now have an archive to be proud of.”
