structural elements Extensive update of Renolit Alkor st range

The Renolit Alkor st stock range of decorative PVC films for caravan, mobile home and modular buildings is suitable for lamination to walls and ceiling panels and offers many advantages over paper based alternatives. The material benefits from covering substrate imperfections, provides a waterproof barrier and can withstand impact helping to maintain a quality appear- ance over time. But it’s not just the technical properties that are importance. Expectations for the aesthetic finish of the interior specification of mobile buildings has increased. These demands can be met with the recently improved Renolit Alkor st range, which has been updated to offer fashionable tints, contrast colours and structured surfaces. The range includes: Printed Design Textures, including the new Rosette, Bowburn A Yorkshire and Silktouch designs; New Textures, Roughstone and Grassweave; Solid Colours: a section of light colours in cream, fawns, and soft greys with strong contrast options; Classic Textures, Some designs deservedly have lasted the test of time, and without them the range wouldn’t be complete. Featured in the picture, Dresden White on the ceiling is teamed up with new introduction Bowburn A Yorkshire on the walls, complimented in the kitchen by Roxy A, trimmed with Platinum White Suedette Matt both from the Renolit Alkoren range of 3D forming veneers.

An independent study by the Steel Construction Institute [SCI] has highlighted the benefits that arise from using SkanDek for the roof rather than the built-up cladding with purlins option. Savings can be made in construction cost and programme. A SkanDek solution offers slender construction, stunning overhangs, increased floor grids, open space and light – all things that should appeal to the modern retailer. The system is fully tested and is the first lightweight roof system to have gained CE Mark status. The SkanDek structural element can be installed with a single ply roof membrane, metal standing seam or a wide range of other waterproof layers. Ceiling constructions can deliver the required fire and acoustic performance together with range of ceiling finishes. Installation rates of over 2,000m² per day of finished roof and ceiling have been achieved. Eurobond-SkanDek offers a full technical and design service to help clients, designers and contractors maximise the features and benefits of a SkanDek Solution.

Socomec UPS has developed a pre-engineered and factory-tested containerised critical power system – the Smart PowerPort – to allow organisations to rapidly respond to unforeseen or urgent requirements for additional critical power. The

system provides future-proofing for mission critical power applications by ramping incremental power capacity – precisely when and where it is needed most. The energy efficiency – verified by TÜV SÜD and Bureau Veritas – and scalability of the Socomec UPS systems within the Smart PowerPort, help min- imise Power usage Efficiency (PuE) without high risk capital expenditure.

enq.168 Modular home launched

A ground breaking sustainable project, which is the result of three years research and develop- ment, Modular Living’s new home will help fill a gap in the social housing market and do so in a way that will lower energy bills and help reduce fuel poverty, with predicted annual costs of £500 for total energy use. Modular Living’s

home meets Level Four of the Code for Sustainable Homes thanks not only to the installation of Spectus windows, but also other energy efficiency measures such as a heat exchange unit and the use of high quality insulating building mate- rials including increased loft insulation.
