Tomorrow’s Smart:Home Design Competition
An addition to the Sunday Times British Homes Awards 2012, and in partnership with BRE, The New Homes Marketing Board, RIBA and CEDIA the annual Awards' competition called for design submissions for Tomorrow's SmartHome. Smart home systems and technologies
are becoming increasingly prevalent in our homes. As we move towards a digital society these systems will become a standard feature in our homes and occupants' expectations of what these systems can deliver will increase. Individual systems exist that can con-
trol and monitor many aspects of our homes including heating, water, light- ing, healthcare and entertainment. This competition is seeking integrated, inter- operable solutions that demonstrate the application of digital monitoring and control systems in the home. The panel of judges, chaired by
Sunand Prasad PPRIBA, senior partner Penoyre & Prasad LLP, have selected a shortlist of six designs.
