Potters launches bowls cruise

Potters, the Norfolk-based leisure resort which is host and sponsor of the World Indoor Bowls Championships, and their sister company ‘No Fly Cruising’, have announced their first bowls cruise. Departing from Dover on May 22, 2012, this nine-night cruise navigates around the UK stopping off in Wales, Eire, Northern Ireland, the Orkneys and Scotland, giving Potters guests the opportunity to bowl at local clubs. This is the perfect combination of a great cruise holiday on-board one of UK’s favourite ships, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ Braemar, with games of bowls at local

clubs along the way. And with so many other excursions and on-board activities to look forward to, this is the perfect cruise for bowlers and non-bowlers alike. As well as the full-board services provided by Fred. Olsen’s friendly and dedicated crew on-board the ship, Potters guests will also have the full services and support of a dedicated Potters representative throughout the cruise, plus an exclusive Potters Welcome Drinks Party.

Guests will also be cruising along with former World Indoor Singles champion Greg Harlow, who will captain the team

Make a date with Leicestershire club

Syston Bowling Club in Leicestershire has published a colourful 2012 calendar to raise funds for local children’s charity, Rainbows, the jointly-nominated charity of incoming presidents Bob Dunlop and Sheila Parker. Each month features a local Syston scene, painted by men’s president, Bob Dunlop, who says: “In the past, ladies’ and men’s presidents have nominated separate charities

during their year of office. I was, therefore, very happy to agree with lady president, Sheila, that during our year of office we could break with tradition and identify a worthy local cause that we could both whole-heartedly support. Syston has many under-valued features which I have been happy to draw attention to in the calendar. We are asking a very modest minimum

donation of £3 per calendar (with envelope) and hope to raise a significant sum of money for a very worthy cause. We would like to thank Parker Motor Services for sponsoring the project.”

Anyone wishing to buy a calendar or requiring further information, should contact either Bob Dunlop (0116 260 0639) or Sheila Parker (01664 424 491).

when guests play at the local clubs along the way.

Prices for this first nine-night ‘Potters Around Britain Bowls Cruise’ start from as little as £899 per person, with a number of other great add-ons and incentives available.

There is a limit of 48 for the number of bowlers that Potters can accept for this cruise due to rink availability at the clubs, so if you are looking to join this unique cruise we would recommend that you call Potters ‘No Fly Cruising’ as soon as possible to reserve your place. The number to dial is 0844 856 9471.
