AUTHOR VISIT: TAWNA FENSKE—MAKING WAVES Kick off your summer reading with Tawna Fenske, a native Oregonian and author of quirky romantic comedies, who loves world travel and tending to her “menagerie of ill-behaved household pets.” Fenske’s debut novel, Making Waves, was a 2011 Writers Digest “Notable Debut” and was nominated for Best Contemporary Romance in RT Book Reviews 2011 Reviewers’ Choice Awards. The Chicago Tribune said “…Fenske’s wildly inventive plot and wonderfully quirky characters provide the perfect literary antidote to any romance reader’s summer reading doldrums.”

RE-ART FOR KIDS: MONKEY SHOW PUPPETS RE-ART programs encourage children ages 5 to 10 to explore and embrace art in new contexts. Interactive class- es inspire creativity and help children recognize that art is everywhere! Offered by Boise Public Library, Boise’s Arts & History Department and the Treasure Valley Institute for Children’s Arts (TrICA) with support from Idaho Power. CHARLIE HOPE SINGS FOR KIDS


Children’s musician Charlie Hope helps us kick off Summer Reading with a free, family concert. Charlie’s award- winning music for young children include the CDs I’m Me!, Songs, Stories, and Friends: Let’s Go Play!, and World of Dreams: Soothing Songs and Lullabies. The singer and songwriter has a degree in Art Therapy with Children and believes that music is vital to a child’s overall well-being. Join us for a foot-stomping, roaring-like-a-lion good time!
