Boise River Float ~ Make it Fun, Make it Safe! Boiseans love cooling off with a float down the beautiful Boise River. Boise Police, Boise Parks & Rec and the Boise Fire Department want your float to be fun and safe!

• Trash bins located at the four rest stops along the float route are there for environmental health and your safety – use them!

• Idaho law requires anyone 14 or under to wear a life vest in any water craft 19 feet or smaller. Floaters of all ages who are not strong swimmers are urged to wear life vests.

• Leave alcohol at home. Open containers of alcohol are not allowed on the Boise River or in Boise Parks within 250 feet of the river.

• Carry your beverages in plastic or aluminum containers. Glass containers of any kind are illegal on the Boise River or in Boise Parks.

• All floaters are encouraged to wear tennis shoes for safety and comfort. • Floaters are urged to watch for overhanging branches or swift currents that may cause rafts to overturn.

• Floaters should call 911 if they see a life-threatening or emergency situation. A Fundraiser to Benefit the AdVenture Program

Summer Bicycle Safety Tips Boise is a cycling city, especially during the summer months. Keep courtesy and these safety tips in mind to keep our roadways safe for everyone! Bicyclists: • Be predictable - follow all traffic laws and avoid "surprising" motorists. • Always wear a properly fitting helmet. • Always ride on the right side of the road - with traffic. • Before entering the street from a driveway, sidewalk, or bike path, stop first, look left, right, and left again before proceeding.

• Make sure you have a good light as well as reflectors on the back of the bike. Small, red, blinking lights on the back are a good idea and relatively cheap to keep you visible at night.
