PARENT & CHILD PRESCHOOL OPEN SWIM THE NATATORIUM & IVYWILD - Monday-Friday,10:00 am to noon
Parents can take advantage of a special time for preschoolers to enjoy swimming in the wading pool during morning hours at regular admission prices (free to family pass holders). Open to children age 6 and under when accompanied by a parent June 4 and runs thru August 10 at The Natatorium and August 17 at Ivywild.
NOTE TO PARENTS: POOL SAFETY - Increased concerns with water borne illnesses and child safety have made it necessary for parents to be more vigilant in supervising their children, taking their children to the restroom often, and keeping their children out of the pool for two weeks are stomach illnesses. While in all pools, children under age 3 and/or those who are not potty trained must be under direct supervision (within arms length of parent) AT ALL TIMES.
YOUTH OUTDOOR POOLS SWIMMING LESSONS
4th, make-up on July 6th. Resident Fee: $34.00 / Non-resident Fee: $52.15
Preschool Water Adventurers w/Adult (ages 3-4) - Adult/
child classes introduce children to basic skills while becoming comfortable and emphasizing fun in the water. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in the water.
Adventurers (ages 4 & older) - Children are introduced to basic safety & become comfortable in the water.
Explorers (ages 4 & older) - Children are taught underwater exploration and begin to swim on their front and back.
Propellers (suggested ages 6 & older) - Children learn to swim back crawl. They also learn to swim on their front using proper breathing and stroke techniques. Breaststroke is introduced.
Swimmers (suggested ages 6 & older) - Children continue to work with the front and back crawl. Elementary backstroke, scissor kick and dolphin kick are introduced.
Competitors (suggested ages 7 & older) - Children work on increased endurance for all strokes and begin diving. Butterfly and sidestroke are introduced.

Classes are available at all outdoor pools through Boise Parks and Recreation’s Stroke & Turn Aquatic Recreation program (STAR). Eight 25 minute classes are offered in two-week sessions, Monday-Thurs- day. Class sizes are limited, and registration is on a first come, first served basis. Pre-school classes are available to ages 3-4 years and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in the water. For all other classes, students must be at least 4 years old. No classes July
