SKILL LEVELS


Yogi and Boo Boo (Parent and Child) - Designed for children ages 3-5 who have not received formal instruction. Children will learn basic skating skills (parents can participate too!) Class meets from noon-12:30 p.m. Saturdays. Cubbies (Level 1) - For children ages 4-6 who’ve never received instruction will learn basic skills in a fun, nurturing environment. Classes meet from 4:30-5 p.m. Thursdays or noon-12:30 p.m. Satur- days.


Advanced Cubbies (Level 2) - For children ages 4-6 who’ve completed Cubbies and are able to glide across the ice. We’ll begin to learn the proper method of pushing and gliding as well as swizzles and wiggles. Classes meet from 4:30-5 p.m. Thursdays or noon-12:30 p.m. Saturdays. Hockey Cubbies (Hockey Level 1) - For children ages 3-6 years who want to learn the basic skills of playing hockey. This class is a pre-requisite for the Mighty Mite program. Classes meet from 4:30- 5 p.m. Fridays or 12:45-1:15 p.m. Saturdays. Teddy Bears (Level 3) - Children ages 7-12 will learn the proper way to fall, get up from a kneel- ing position, skating forward across the rink without falling, gliding forward on two feet, forward and backward two-foot swizzles, snowplow stop, gliding forward on one foot and two-foot hop while moving. Classes meet from 5:15-5:45 p.m. Thursdays or noon-12:30 p.m. Saturdays. Koalas (Level 4) - Children ages 7-12 will learn forward stroking (utilizing correct use of blade and neat footwork), two-foot turn from forward to backward, forward crossovers and one foot snowplow stop. Classes meet from 5:15-5:45 p.m. Thursdays or 12:45-1:15 p.m. Saturdays. Pandas (Level 5) - Children ages 7-12 will learn backward stroking, backward to forward two-foot turn on a circle, backward crossovers and T-stops. Classes meet from 5:15-5:45 p.m. Thursdays or 12:45-1:15 p.m. Saturdays. Kodiaks (Level 6) - Children ages 7-12 will learn forward outside edges, forward inside edges, forward outside and inside three turns and hockey stops. Classes meet from 5:15-5:45 p.m. Thursdays or 12:45-1:15 p.m. Saturdays. Polars (Level 7) - Children ages 7-12 years will learn back outside edges, back inside edges, forward inside open mohawks, seven step mohawk combination and lunges. Classes meet from 5:15- 5:45 p.m. Thursdays or 12:45-1:15 p.m. Saturdays. Adult & Teen Learn to Skate - Participants age 13 & older will learn the five basic levels of the children’s programs but will offer a more progressive curriculum. Classes meet from 6:45-7:15 p.m. Wednesdays.


Learn to Skate Camp


In this fun instructional week-long camp, boys and girls age 7-12 learn the fundamentals of skating!


Camp includes games, snacks and other activities for the participants. Camp meets from 9 a.m.-noon Monday-Friday. Cost: $100

Parties are scheduled during public skating hours. The party room can be reserved before, during or after the session based on availability. A minimum of 10 days in advance to reserve your spot.

IDAHO ICEWORLD INTRODUCTION TO FIGURE SKATING


These classes are designed to introduce skaters to the next level of skating. Skaters must have passed the Polar level to enter these classes.


Jumps/Spins/Moves Designed to introduced the skater to the next level of figure skating. Class will concentrate on beginning spin technique and moves in the field tests.


Advanced Jumps/Spins/Choreography Must have passed the Beginning Jumps and Spins class and mastered all single jumps (Waltz through Axel jumps). Skaters will learn Double-Triple Jump, combination-flying spins, and choreography. Offered on select Saturdays.


Cardio Blast Intense level specific, high energy, power skating class offered on select Saturdays.


Solo Adult Ice Dancing Skaters will learn the Dutch Waltz and Canasta Tango. Must have passed the Adult and Teen Class. Ages 18 and up. Times TBA


Solo Ice Dancing Skaters will learn the Dutch Waltz and Canasta Tango. Must have passed Polar level. Ages 18 and under. Classes offered on select Saturdays.


COMPETITIVE FIGURE SKATERS CAMP


July 30–August 3 - Figure skaters who have completed the Polar Bear level can get a “jump” on their competition by attending this camp. Six hours each day of Intense Fig- ure Skating training designed to prepare you for upcoming shows and competitions. The camp will run Monday-Fri- day from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Cost: $250 per skater for full week ($60 daily drop-in fee). To register, call (208) 331-0044.
