In fact, it was the world premiere of the Audi Connect in the A3, which was actually only “about 95 percent there” in January, according to a company rep. Look for it to be available in Europe by the third quarter and in North America by early next year. It’s an option in the A7 and comes standard in the A8. Users can control the sync via their steering wheel, and Audi next looks to add speech recognition. The nav is integrated with Google Earth Street View and integrates with Facebook. Amid all the cool gadgetry, cars and, well, booth models, Mobile Solutions provided an update on the tools that installers need to actually make the most radical motor- ist’s dreams come true. The Phoenix-based company demonstrated its new Polarity Tester, which retails at $100. It’s the foundation of audio checks, absolute phase and wiring. It’s as simple to use as hooking it up and looking for a green light (in phase) or red (out of phase). It also comes with a test disc, carry case and wires. “Every technician should have one of these,” said the company’s Bryan Schmitt. Other useful new tools included a $20 wire feed tool for pulling 4 gauge RCA with-
