Public broadcasters urged to ‘continuously innovate’
“Rapid digitalisation and media convergence have made it more challenging than ever for public broadcasters to retain audience share,” said Grace Fu, Singapore’s Senior Minister of State for Information, Communications and the Arts, in her keynote address during the Public Broadcasters International conference.
“It is important for public broadcasters to continuously innovate, as well as develop and nurture talents to meet the challenges of the
NHK to use new media.
“Japanese regulations, in principle, prohibit NHK from retransmitting its TV and radio services simultaneously on the Internet. But, for two weeks after the quake, we offered live streaming of the main TV channel.
