Playmobil

Playmobil, has announced the launch of Fi?ures, a range of individual Playmobil characters aimed at the pocket money market. The German company will launch two assortments of 12 figures, one for girls and one for boys, with each figure individually packaged and priced at just £1.99. Playmobil Fi?ures is centred on three key features: assembly, collectability and

interchanging components. As a result of significant investment in molding technology, the new range will allow children to assemble their figures, take them apart or mix and match body parts and accessories to create a brand new character of their own design. A core element of the product is surprise, for this reason the ‘g’ in figures is replaced with a ‘?’ to illustrate that the content of each packet is a mystery. The packaging for male and female characters differ in colour and children looking to collect the full set can swap characters with their friends or siblings. Boys and girls will also be able to play with and collect individual characters without

parents having to buy a whole playset, and as all Playmobil characters are built to identical dimensions, children can use their Fi?gures in existing ranges. Jamie Dickinson, Marketing Manager for Playmobil commented: “The figure is at the

heart of every toy Playmobil makes. It was the first Playmobil product designed, so it’s a natural progression that the figure has its own dedicated range with an exciting twist.” “We are strong believers that creative and imaginative play has a positive impact on a

child’s development. What’s more creative than giving children the opportunity to invent their own characters and stories.” Each series will have a hero item. In the boys series,

there will be a knight in a special blue shiny armour. In the girls series, there will be a princess with a gemstone dress.

The figures will be packed in glossy foil bags

containing an unassembled figure, and an insert with assembly information and showing all 12 Fi?ures in the series. The new range will be supported by advertising, including a share of 150 TVRs running until September 3rd. T: 01268 548111 W: www.playmobil.co.uk
