Rubie’s has appointed Beatrice Butler in the new role of product manager. Beatrice joins after five years at the UK’s leading online fancy dress specialists Abscissa. Beatrice has experience in product line selection, forecasting, product development and Far East manufacturing. She was also integral to the success of Abscissa’s online store with a background in marketing including promotions, viral campaigns and advertising. Beatrice’s new role will include full management of licensed and generic product development, working with the dedicated European design team and driving consumer and trade-led marketing. David Wootliff, Rubie’s head of marketing said, “Bringing Beatrice onboard is one of many steps we are taking to ensure our growth continues. We are all thrilled and are looking forward to seeing what Beatrice brings to the team.”


re:creation is strengthening its sales team with two experienced industry members. Samantha Eversfield joins re:creation as senior national account manager. She began her career with RC2 over nibe years ago and has since enjoyed experience with VTech and Tomy. Her role will be focusing on the company’s strategy for key nationals and the independent trade. Steve Meinhold takes on the telesales key account executive role. His background includes various roles in the sporting and retail Industry, with Harrods, Cycles UK and WaterRower to name a few.


Papo UK has appointed Lorraine Sault as southern area account manager. Lorraine has considerable experience within the independent retail market as a sales representative and will be responsible for both sales and customers support for Southern England. UK and Ireland country manager, Philip Morris, said: “We are delighted to welcome Lorraine to the team enabling us to offer greater support to our customers.


Michael Narayan has joined Pattni, the company behind the Match Stars action figures (See Fresh! section). Naroyan is a De Montfort University graduate and previously held a senior marketing role with software provider i-nexus. He will play a vital role in the impending launch of Match Stars and commented: “I’m very excited about my new role at Pattni Imaginations it is a young and energetic company that’s developing some really innovative products and I’m thrilled to be involved.” Pattni Imaginations MD Mayur Pattni, added: “We are delighted to have appointed Michael. As we continue to expand so too does our team and we need the very best people on board. “Michael will be able to use his wealth of knowledge and experience in the marketing sector to build on the popularity and anticipation that is surrounding both Match Stars and our new Rocky line.”


Jack McGrath has been promoted to chief operating officer at Jakks Pacific following 12 years service at the firm. McGrath will take over from Stephen Berman, who will remain at the company as co-founder, secretary and CEO. McGrath, a 15-year veteran of the toy industry, joined Jakks Pacific in 1999 as vice president of marketing and product development, moving up to senior vice president of operations in 2000 and then executive vice president of operations in 2008. Before he joined Jakks, McGrath enjoyed a stint at Mattel as marketing director. “Jack has demonstrated leadership throughout his years with the company, and his high level of experience and business acumen makes him the perfect choice to be our COO,” commented Stephen Berman, president and CEO of Jakks Pacific.
